Designed for all of its flatbeds, the new automation module removes processed media up to 3.2×2m from the flatbed table. Loading continues to be done by hand, but the manufacturer said this option makes it easier to handle large runs efficiently.
SwissQprint said it had gathered initial customer feedback as part of the development process and that the device was tailored to market needs. The finished product should be available in 2025, the company added.
SwissQprint marketing and communication specialist Stephan Lang told Printweek at the show: “It makes the process much easier and faster, and it helps the operator to handle the printed sheets. Having automatic functions is the future – we see it everywhere.”
Carmen Eicher, chief of sales and marketing officer at SwissQprint, also commented: “More and more customers are looking to automate their printing processes while preserving flexibility.
“Drupa is now the perfect opportunity to show the conceptual study and collect broad-based feedback that will go into final development.”
SwissQprint said the new unloading option maintains printer versatility and accessibility. Special applications, short runs, and roll jobs can be completed as before because the unloading option can be undocked from the printer at any time.
The automation option was shown running on the company’s Kudu printer at Drupa, which closed last Friday (7 June).
