Emmerson Press has scored another Fujifilm first after buying the UK’s first ApeosPro C digital press.

The ApeosPro C range of toner digital presses became available for the UK market in April, alongside Fujifilm’s new Revoria Press.

This was followed by a VIP launch event last month, where Emmerson Press director Jamie Emmerson sealed the deal for the first ApeosPro C810 printer.

The C810 model is the fastest in the range, which starts at 65ppm.

The Kenilworth commercial printer was also the first UK installation for Fujifilm’s B2 Jet Press inkjet press in 2016, with that device subsequently upgraded to the 750S spec.

Emmerson said the ApeosPro would replace an older Linoprint toner machine that had reached its end of life.

He said the sub-£30,000 price point, print quality and capabilities of the new printer made it a “truly exceptional machine that is well worth the investment”.

“After looking at the market, the ApeosPro C seemed like an ideal choice. We’d been researching it for some time but had to wait patiently until the official UK launch in April to speak to our Fujifilm representative.

“Following this conversation, we soon signed the deal. Despite it being newly launched in the UK, we did our homework and, being a long-term Fujifilm partner, we were confident that the technology had been tried and tested. Being the first in the UK to invest in Fujifilm technology once again, marks an exciting time for us and we are confident that this investment will give us a competitive edge.”

The ApeosPro C810 prints in CMYK on a wide variety of stocks from 52-350gsm. Print speed is 81 A4ppm, and it handles paper sizes up to 330x1,300mm.

It uses a low-energy LED printhead and has a print resolution of 2,400x2,400dpi.

Emmerson said its versatility was attractive.

“We’ll use it to produce a wide range of additional applications – particularly any ultra-short run work that needs to be turned around instantly. And we’ll also use it as an office printer, which further helps with costs and efficiency.”

The ApeosPro is set to be installed “imminently” and will link with Emmerson’s Fujifilm XMF workflow. It has an EFI Fiery frontend.

“Fujifilm has some impressive kit and the Acuity range also looks really good,” he added.

Emmerson Press also has B2 litho printing and extensive post-press facilities in-house, and produces a range of high-end and creative print products for its blue-chip client base.
