| Swanline Group expands packaging lineup |
Trade-only printer and converter Swanline Group has expanded its finishing lineup for printed packaging with a pair of installations from Bobst.
Its most recent investment, a Bobst Visioncut 1.6 PR Autoplaten die-cutter, was installed last month at its Staffordshire site.
The printed packaging company – itself owned by packaging giant Zeus Packaging – decided to make the investment after experiencing exponential growth in demand for its corrugated packaging.
The flatbed cutter, able to handle most substrates, has been installed with Bobst’s Power Register (PR) auto-registration system for faster set-up times.
It has joined a Bobst Expertfold 165 A2 folder-gluer, installed in August 2022, on site.
The Expertfold itself is suited for constant folding, and is able to automatically eject non-standard boxes.
Dave Salt, Swanline’s production manager, said: “In order to offer Swanline customers the very best solutions, we know it’s important to continually invest into the very best processing, printing and conversion technology.
“Bobst gives us access to this calibre of equipment along with a robust service network, which is an equally important consideration in our purchasing decisions.”
The two new arrivals complement an existing array of Bobst equipment at Swanline’s factory, including a Foliostar 165 Matic sheet-to-sheet laminator and another VisionCut 1.6 die-cutter.
