A new range of polywrapping machines has been launched by manufacturing company International Mailroom Machines (IMM).
The i6-series has a top operating speed of 7,000 packs per hour, can handle pack sizes up to A3 and 50mm in thickness.
The three machines in the range, which include compact, flexi and maxi, range in price from £71,500 to £83,720 and were developed after iMM bought the rights from manufacturer Norpack, which went into administration.
The i6-series was launched this week and the company has two demonstration machines on show in Leeds.
All three models are supplied with a built-in vacuum shuttle feeder, while all of the other feeders on the system are standalone units plugged into the main unit.
The polywrap machines feature automatic settings which are displayed on a large colour touch screen and have a learn function for job memory. Print registration reading for printed film is a standard feature on all iMM polywrappers.
Richard Cox, managing director of Document X, the UK and Ireland distributor for the i6-series, said: "The new machines are priced to fit into the lower end of the polywrap market but offer features that are normally only available on high-end machines. The machines can handle packs of up to 50mm thickness, which is around 15-20mm more than most of our competitors at both the lower and high end of the market.
"Everything that iMM produces is built in-house," he added
