Transactional printer FCS Lasermail has launched a hybrid mail solution, FCS OfficePost.
According to FCS business development manager Steve Beeching, the product has been aimed as a rival to systems such as DocMail and Unity.
The system can be installed and licensed for £500, while rebranding it to a user’s own skin will cost £1,500. Beeching added that the price per envelope can be as little as 6p per item.
He said: "FCS use the system in conjunction with Emtex VDE, this offers end clients an endless flexibility not available with most rigid hybrid offerings. Examples of this are the ability to utilise and enclose selective inserts based on criteria, select to print on either supplied letterheads or plain paper, or merge marketing collateral."
A number of companies have launched hybrid mail services in recent years, offering users the chance to save on mailing, which is sent out bulked with other end users' mail from a single point, as well as removing a non-core burden.
Birmingham-based FCS has the capacity to print 4.5m A4 sheets and enclose 2.5m envelopes in a 24-hour period.
The company also has ISO9001, ISO14001, IS027001 accreditation.
