|Cova Colour Print bought in management buy in|
Digital printer Cova Colour Print has been bought by former Beacon Press man Mark Pryde in a management buy in.
Pryde has become managing director and major shareholder of the Leith, Edinburgh-based company, taking over from Nick Felisiak, who becomes a non-executive director.
According to Pryde, he will be taking a more hands on approach to the business than his predecessor.
He said: "The company needed a change of direction, Nick has a lot of other interests and he will be focusing on them. The management team will remain in place and we will look to drive the business on."
The six-staff business will be concentrating on personalisation in order to achieve growth, with Pryde targeting a £600,000 turnover, from its current £300,000 a year revenue.
Pryde added: "With digital print I think a lot of companies have failed to seize the initiative on personalisation. As marketing spend has gone down, companies are more focused, it is up to printers to focus that spend.
"In the future we would also like to get into the business-to-consumer market, personalised calendars along the lines of Funky Pigeon and Moonpig. Short term though we want to grow the B2B side."
Pryde has created a non-executive board which will also include former Shaw Marketing and Design managing director John Shaw as non-executive chairman.
