The deal was signed earlier this year, but Pinstripe has been working with the venue and cricket club on an informal basis for the past couple of years.

“We have been quite close to them for a while and developed a good understanding of their business during that time, and they recently decided they wanted a sole supplier for their print,” said Pinstripe managing director Nigel Lyon.

The contract is centered on the production of the venue’s yearbook, annual report and a wide range of promotional items, such as backdrops and banners.

“It’s a massive venue, so beyond the terms of the contract there will also be quite a lot of opportunities that we will be well placed to help with,” said Lyon.

However, the contract excludes work for the ECB.

“Pinstripe deliver a total commitment to sustainable printing, and are able to supply print that has zero CO2 emissions – no CO2 impact whatsoever. This is vital to us, as it fits perfectly into the club’s sustainability ethos and strong CSR policy,” said Edgbaston commercial director Gareth Roberts.

The Edgbaston contract follows Pinstripe winning a place on Dudley Council’s print services framework, one of 14 the central Birmingham-based commercial printer works under.

To partly support the latest contract wins, the £2.5m-turnover firm recently upgraded its stitching capabilities, with a refurbished Muller Martini stitching line installed earlier this month. The latest spend brings the firm’s kit spend in the past three years to around £1.1m.

In January, Pinstripe also became the first B2 printer to gain BPIF ISO 12647-2 colour quality management certification
