| Compostic launches into Woolworths |
In a bid to strengthen its footprint in Australia, New Zealand brand Compostic has launched into Woolworths, now bringing its range of home compostable cling film and resealable bags to the country’s shores.
Since 2018, Compostic has offered 100 per cent home compostable commodities to the NZ market, and over the years has grown a handful of customers in Australia. The recent inclusion of Woolworths Australia has boosted that number by 480.
According to Compostic, the addition means this world-first product will now be available to help more Australians on their journey to reduce plastic within their homes, and further promote the ease and accessibility of at-home composting.
“This move is an important step for the business as Australia has always been an important market for us,” says Jon Reed, founder and CEO of Compostic.
“Conscious consumerism across the region is increasing, and now more than ever these individuals are looking for better alternatives to plastic variants.
“We already know the market loves our products, so we’re excited to now be able to offer it to them at a mass scale.”
Spanning the whole of the country, Compostic cling film will be available in 480 Woolworths stores, with plans to expand into the remaining 420 stores at a future point.
“This mass product distribution comes at the perfect time for Plastic Free July,” says Sarah Bonnefoy, marketing manager at Compostic.
“To connect with our customers we have to show them that we’re a business with a purpose. That purpose for us is reducing the amount of plastic we send to landfill each year.
“We’re also throwing a Plastic Free July event near the end of July and can’t wait to help raise awareness of our mission and connect with our Compostic community in Australia.”
