WTTB adds new products in time for Christmas

Where The Trade Buys (WTTB) has added a number of new items to its personalised product offering, including snowglobes, baubles, mugs, aprons and journals.

Louise Stephenson, managing director of WTTB, said she hoped the new items would be well received.

She said: “We are always looking at ways of helping our customers grow their businesses and giving them a wider selection of merchandise to offer is a great way to do that, particularly as we head towards the busiest time of the year.”

WTTB, part of the Precision Proco group, sells - largely to print resellers - from its four UK sites in Dagenham, Park Royal, Sunderland and Sheffield, which represent over 18,500sqm combined. It employs over 500 staff, and turns over more than £35m.

Products will be printed on a variety of machines in WTTB's stable: aprons, for example, on the firm's Sawgrass 500 desktop sublimation printer, and phone cases on a Mimaki UJF-6042 UV printer.

Playing and greetings cards will be printed on its HP Indigo digital presses.

The new product launches follow WTTB’s February launch of its self-publishing service, Super Book Centre.

Earlier in the year, to publicise the service, it held a competition, encouraging members of the public to submit their book proposals to a panel of WTTB judges and see their idea in print.

The judges voted unanimously to see Swansea-based photographer Rasa Mombeini’s project How to Document Your Family Life in Pictures realised on paper.

Mombeini, who specialises in life photography, has spent years capturing the growth of her three children on film, and wanted to share her expertise and help parents make souvenirs of important moments in their lives.

In early October, she saw 140 copies of her book printed for free, which she will now sell on her website and on Amazon.

The casebound 112pp books were printed on 150gsm silk paper, in four colours, on an HP Indigo 200k, and finished on a Kolbus DA270 Case Maker.

Mombeini said: “I am absolutely delighted to have won the prize. I couldn’t believe it when I found out.

“Along with tips for taking the photographs, I want to give parents some advice, for example make sure you’re also in the pictures so that it really is a memory for all the family.

“Photography is the best way to capture every moment of your children’s lives and I hope my book will help people get the best results.”

Gary Peeling, WTTB’s CEO and one of the judges, said Mombeini’s book had stood out from the crowd.

“We thought it was a really exciting concept and something that would be of use to so many people,” he said.

“We hope it is a great success for her.”
