| Canon and Océ announce products |
Canon and Océ have unveiled the co-developed Océ VarioPrint DP Line and the Canon imageRunner Advance C9000S Pro series, at a joint event at Océ’s international headquarters in Venlo, Netherlands.
The twin product launch follows Canon’s acquisition of Océ in March 2010 and the launch of the imagePress C7010 VPS series - a Canon C7010 VP with an Océ Prismasync DFE - earlier this year.
The Océ VarioPrint DP Line, consisting of the VarioPrint 95, 105, 120 and 135, is a range of black and white, light- to mid-production printers that combine an Océ print engine and controller with Canon’s integrated scanning and finishing technology.
Output speeds for the range vary between 95 A4 ppm to 135 A4 ppm, in line with the model number, while all models feature Océ’s DirectPress, HeatXchange and EnergyLogic technologies, as well as the Prismasync controller.
The engine also incorporates the in-built scanning and finishing capabilities of Canon’s imagePress range, which is said to prevent toner cracking when folding and creasing and reduce media distortion as a result of the low fusing temperature.
Meanwhile, the imageRunner Advance C9000S Pro series light production colour print engine allies Canon’s imageRunner Advance C9000 Pro with Océ’s Prismasync controller.
It can print up to 70 colour or black and white images per minute and can handle a variety of media – on sizes up to 330.2mm x 487.7mm and weights up to 300gsm.
David Preskett, European professional print director, Canon Europe, said: "The launch of these two jointly developed systems so soon after the Canon imagePress C7010VPS is a clear demonstration of the confidence Canon and Océ have in each other’s expertise.
"Not only are we bringing to market another Canon system on the Océ Prismasync platform, but also a breakthrough black and white Océ system based on new, co-developed technology."

The new Océ VarioPrint DP Line and Canon imageRunner Advance C9000S Pro are available immediately from both Canon and Océ’s direct sales organisations in Europe, as well as though their networks of accredited dealers.
