| Falkland Press installs Polar 115X Plus guillotine |
Commercial printer Falkland Press is to install a Heidelberg Polar 115X Plus guillotine next month, along with a Polar stack lift and jogger.
The Hertfordshire-based company, which has a turnover of £2.2m, said it is installing the £75,000 machine to increase its cutting capacity. It will sit alongside the company’s five-year-old Polar 115XT guillotine.
Managing director Jon Lancaster said the company had also just signed a deal for a £90,000 Heidelberg TH56 automated folder, which is to be delivered in January.
"The automated folder will be 10 times faste on makereadies and set-ups than our existing folder," he said.
Last month Lancaster told PrintWeek the company is looking to make further additions to its finishing equipment, including a folder to add to its stitcher and a waste extraction system.
He said: "We want to up our finishing capability and bring it in line with the increased speed of our XL 75."
Falkland Press, which has 25 staff, is also planning to renovate its premises at a cost of £50,000.
