Italian finishing manufacturer Zechini (Hall 14, C04) is using drupa to showcase two new book production lines including a machine for children’s book finishing.
The company is exhibiting its fully automatic Red Arrow system, which is designed for cardboard book production.
Capable of handling substrates up to 135gsm, the machine gathers pages up to a maximum 350x310mm sheet size and folds them into four-page signatures.
The cold glue machine, which is claimed to require only one operator, produces book blocks that can then be opened flat.
Offering output speeds of 8,000 books an hour and capable of finishing books up to a maximum 100mm thick, the Red Arrow is complemented by a Silver Arrow configuration.
This model offers a lower output speed and is targeted at companies producing digitally-printed short-run books for photo and catalogue applications.
