Global tear tape leader Payne has come up with an innovative solution which combines protection against rip damage in hole-punched paper for ring binders and notebooks with valuable opportunities for brand promotion and enhancement.
Utilising the company’s existing tear tape application system, it offers manufacturers a cost-effective and versatile method of reinforcing punched holes on paper pads and file dividers at the point of production.
This means users of ring binder paper no longer have to reinforce the holes themselves using adhesive circles.
In addition, the reinforcing strip can be customised with promotional messages, offering paper producers or mass purchasers the opportunity to enhance branding, or incorporate security features.
"The messages and graphics can be highly visual meaning that the brand ?as well as the product ?is reinforced whenever it is used," says Simon Wildash, head of marketing at Payne.
Manufacturers are increasingly recognising the benefits of selling their paper pad products with reinforcement already built-in, enabling them to both add value to the user and enhance their product range.
Payne’s self adhesive tape for reinforcement is ideal because it can be easily applied at the point of production, enabling manufacturers to incorporate a reinforcement solution into their existing production lines, quickly and cost effectively.
The company’s range of applicators, combined with extended reel lengths for reduced downtime, can achieve speeds of up to 350m per minute to keep pace with the fastest paper manufacturing line speeds.
In order to meet the specific needs of each paper manufacturer, the reinforcement tapes comprise various options of gauge and material.
